Gossip Girl...

Posted by Jac | | Posted On 22 May 2008 at 2:16 PM

I thought this was so cool, so I am sharing it with my blogger friends...

Here is the story... Annie of the Establishment Salon is obsessed with Gossip Girl (and Hanson:0). Her bosses Carly and Howie hooked it up big for her birthday. They knew someone at the Gossip Girl premier party and asked a huge favor to have the crew hold up a sign, 'Hi Annie'. I had the pleasure of collaging, printing, and framing this masterpiece for our little pinch of sunshine, Annie. The Gossip Girl void in the poster has the original green napkin in the framed wall portrait.

Izumi's
My heart is still with Ichiban, mainly because they have more intimate seating. But our server, Joe, at Izumi's was absolutely amazing and never skipped a beat. My absolute favorite is Shiro Maguro (a melt in your mouth tuna belly)... this could have been the best I have ever had... in Wisconsin. If you are not the Sushi or Sashimi type... the rolls are just as great. I recommend Eel Roll, but if you are looking for something a lil' more cooked i would go with the ever-so-popular Tempura Shrimp Roll.

Port China
... on Port Washington Road, near Brown Deer. This is hands down one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the Milwaukee Area. Emperor of China is up there too. Anyways, by the interior of this restaurant you would not expect it to rattle your taste buds. The best... BEST... Eggrolls. They are very sweet, maybe with nutmeg. Very unique and very good!

the Knick
Personally, it is exactly like Harry's and for that why not just stay in the area and go to the one in Shorewood. We did go last Sunday for their brunch and a few differences... One of their brunch specialties is a Crab Hash... OMGosh so amazing! (Harry's does not have the Crab Hash). Service was great and the Bloodies were piled high with veggies... just the way we like 'em.

the Hollander
(on Farwell) This could probably be my favorite Go-To restaurant. We go here soo.. much. I ALWAYS get their Grand Club. It has this sweet pepper aioli sauce which makes it just primo. Of course, you need to get their Frites (fries) with choices of a dozen different dipping sauces. I prefer the Basil aioli and the Garlic aioli. Some other favorites from the crew I usually go with: the Bangers and Mash, Chili Mac & Cheese, and (on the menu soup) Split Pea Soup. Don't forget desert... yum yum yum!

California Pizza Kitchen
my hubby's choice. While shopping away at Bayshore Towncenter you should feed yourself so you have enough energy to shop, shop, shop and no DROP. For a quick fix, I suggest this restaurant. They are quick and their pizza is quite good AND you can get a near fabulous glass of vino in there.

** I do NOT write bad reviews... and there are plenty of other restaurants I choose not to write about because of my unpleasant experience with them.

A thank you...

It has been a week since our Studio Warming and Fundraiser benefiting the Children's Hospital Foundation. It was a huge success and we made a wonderful donation to the Children's Hospital. Donations were accumulative from the Boutique Sessions, which included a mini session at the event and a 5x7 gift portrait AND our raffle. Thank you to all of our vendors and businesses that helped out and donated beautiful items to our raffle. Of course, a very special thanks to all of our clients, their guests, and the community for coming out and supporting our very fun and unique event!

If for some odd reason, you missed our event and feel absolutely awful because you are realizing you missed out on an amazing evening.... don't worry! Because we had sooo... much fun giving back to the community with our fundraiser, we are totally going to do it again. Keep checking our blog and website for updates and for a schedule of upcoming events.

Foody Review.

My hubby and I decided to go into the city for dinner this evening. We were walking around and noticed this very mod restaurant located in the Hotel Metro. We decided to check it out.
It was very busy for even a Friday, you could tell this was the Martini hot spot to start off everyone's weekend. We just hoped the food was good.
They seated us at a four-top, but we didn't mind one bit because one side of our table was a love seat sofa.... so cool!
We ordered their Caprese salad [mozzarella, basil, & tomato]. Not the best, way too many greens to be truly Italian. I ordered my entree, the Eggplant Parmesan... absolutely mouth-watering-amazing. Sam, my husband ordered the Scallops and Shrimp... he was NOT complaining at all... once again amazing (he never complains:) ).
To top this amazing evening off we ended with a fabulous almond cake. yummy yummy yummy!
I totally recommend this restaurant!

If you feel like crying a river... this is it for you!

I was going thru the slideshow templates and found this one for P.S. I Love You. The pictures I put in the slideshow don't really mean anything... although it is for our upcoming Studio Warming & Fundraiser... so I guess it is important atleast. BUT I just had to advertise this movie and how great it was. I saw it over the Holidays in theatres. I was so embarrassed because in the first 30 seconds of the movie I was bawling.... until the very, very end. I don't mean shedding a few tears... I mean I could barely breathe and my quick pit stop to the movie bathroom's for their harsh paper toweling was not doing the trick, except for irritating my skin even more.
SO... this movie is perfect if you feel like a feel-good cry in your own home, behind closed doors (A much better option than my theatre embarrassment).
I give it four stars. Is four stars good? I don't know. Can you trust my judgement in movies? Don't ask my husband that question:)
